Medical Provider Network Assistant

DEPARTMENT: CLAIMS
REPORTS TO: CUSTOMER CARE SUPERVISOR
STATUS: NON-EXEMPT
HOURS: T-Sa 9a-6p

Requirements of the Position
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Computer literacy; familiarity with Microsoft Office suite
  • Must be able to type 45 WPM
  • This individual will adhere to the code of ethical conduct and is required to engage in fair claims settlement practice in accordance with the workers’ compensation law
  • Minimum of one year relevant claims experience in the Worker’s Compensation field is desired.

Job Summary
  • Nominates or removes medical providers to the Medical Provider Network (MPN)
  • Reconciles MPN requests on a follow-up basis
  • Through the MPN enrollment process, establishes a customer service relationship with the policyholder contact and/or Human Resources facilitator by conducting surveys, preparing enrollment documents for mailing/fax or e-mail
  • Relates an understanding of the LC Rules relative to the MPN, its use and employee rights. Applies knowledge to conduct a provider lookup in the MPN
  • Maintains proper documentation for each policyholder enrollment, prepares claim kits, and mails welcome letters to new and renewed policy holders

  • Ability to document claim file activities is required
  • Responsiveness to changing business or customer needs
