DEPARTMENT: CLAIMS
REPORTS TO: CUSTOMER CARE SUPERVISOR
STATUS: NON-EXEMPT
HOURS: M-F 10a-7p
REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma required, college preferred.
- Detail oriented, organized self-starter with a desire for career development within
the insurance industry.
- 2-4 years relevant experience in the customer service field.
- Computer literacy; familiarity with Microsoft Office necessary.
- This individual will adhere to the code of ethical conduct and is required to
engage in fair claims settlement practice.
JOB SUMMARY:
This individual will independently process telephonic claims for a Claims Unit
handling multi-state worker’s compensation claims. Documentation of Claim file
activities will be documented upon telephonic loss intake. General knowledge of
controlling State jurisdictional law is utilized as pertains to state form filing. New
loss set-up, assignment, understanding of policy coverage, and customer service
are essential job functions. Support functions will include but not be limited to
incoming phone calls, telephone surveys, mail opening/indexing, call log update,
production of monthly/quarterly client loss reports, DCI (detail claim information),
production of claim kits, overview of claim kits for all clients (premium of $250k or
>), assist with MPN/HCN/MCO network provider lookup, and all other duties as
assigned.

- Ability to multi-task and stronghold the understanding of human nature and
motivation principles
- Readily control/handle problem issues in times of stress, and/or in a climate of
conflict or adversity
- Ability to respond to changing business and customer needs
- Ability to type 45 WPM
- Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred but not required
